Izuku had spent hours and hours looking into the man’s life, dragging every scrap of it from the annals of history.Ī soft hearted but self absorbed man like this would of course be weak for a quirkless kid with a desperate hunger for heroics, just like him. Just like killing any towering figure, you had to first gain their trust. Killing All Might wasn’t even a difficult task. Like gaining his trust, gaining his quirk, and then killing him while at his weakest.

Tenko, as mentioned earlier, was not a very good villain except at the violence part of it and besides, if All For One just wanted to hurt All Might, there were plenty of ways to do that. The childish jealousy was to appeal to his father’s skyscraper sized ego, and the efficiency was to give him a reason to actually let Tenko go. Izuku had managed to explain it in terms of half childish jealousy and half efficiency. This was one of the only times he had so blatantly ruined one of his father’s petty and vindictive schemes, of which there were many (this one especially cruel). Had Izuku gotten punished for this? Absolutely. It wasn’t like he wasn’t smart enough for it, he just didn’t have those natural talents that made people excellent villains, like his father did. So Tenko had listened when Izuku had persuaded him to pursue a career of game design rather than mass murder. Instead, he chose to remind Tenko of who he was, outside of All For One. He hadn’t understood why the boy was with them at first, but oh, he certainly had when his father gave him That Name. If one man could break his mentality, so could another.įor instance, he never, not once, called Tenko, “Tomura.” One, then he would truly become his father’s puppet and two, his father would only trust him if he was a loyal ally who had proven his worth, not a broken doll.

He did not do everything his father wanted though, for two reasons. Rip the quirk from a total innocent to test Izuku’s loyalty? He did it, although his stomach churned and the ever-present guilt in his heart surged. All For One wanted him to kill? He did it. He did every task asked of him, no exception.

He had been scheming and calculating for years to gain the man’s trust. Izuku wholly despised the phrase, but at this point he supposed he couldn’t help but admit it.
